I used carhistory.com(at the time Feb. of 2014) . I used the company as their service was $18.95 for a carfax like vin search , and their service did report a clean record for the truck I bought my son. The company , owned by Andy Wright then billed my card eight more times $18.95 before my wife caught the error . I am posting this to alert you to the business model of carhistory . It is to take advantage of the consumer . I should have done more research, but instead was looking to save money . The carfax search was either $40~50 at the time. I now have had to close the account that carhistory was locked on to,go into the bank and explain with them with my last nine bank statements, emailed Andy numerous times who has refunded(so he says )$18.95 . I am out $150 . I will use carfax and pay the piper in the future .

You should get your bank to credit you due to fraud and they will then reverse the charges against the carhistory.com bank.

Unless you have invoices from carhistory.com showing separate searches, there should not be an issue with your bank.

Carhistory.com is now being redirected to carfax.com

Looking at the CarFax customer agreement wall of text; you have a 60 service for unlimited requests as long as not used for commercial purposes.
