Cargo carrier choice

Ok, the idea is we need 2 vehicles with cargo room that won't be an issue in the snow. Nothing extreme, think $35k or under, BRAND NEW.

Ideas we had were Jeep Liberty, Hummer H3(couldn't believe how cheap they are), or even a Dodge Magnum(hey, it's AWD...).

Any ideas? Experiences?

It doesn't really snow that much here, but when it does it can be nasty in the residential areas. Since it doesn't snow much, I even considered the Scion XB, considering how ridiculously cheap they are, but I'm not sure how they'll handle when it does snow.
