Beware that the same password is used for Games for Windows LIVE is also used for Hotmail. It kind of makes sense after thinking about it, since Microsoft is working toward a single platform for all online access, but there was no blantant warning.
I just logged in to 'Games for Windows LIVE', to see if any progress had been made by Microsoft for bridging the XBox online play with the PC online play. I changed my password. No problems so far. Then I tried to log into Hotmail. My Hotmail password was no longer valid. I later tried my GamesForWindows password on Hotmail, and VOILA!, I am in.
edit: I access one via xbox.com and the other via hotmail.com but if I had paid attention to the toolbar, both sites are portals to the same login.live.com
