Careers in Theology

Friend wants to go into Theology, he is into religions all this past year...

anyways who and where hires for this stuff?

he quotes, "depends if you wanna be a priest or not, if not, then you can be a teacher, apologist, write books"

I call its a crock of BS

double majors, you will need the other one when you get bored with theology.

may I recommened psychology or brain science-related fields.

break new grounds with special research teams and find out how religion affects people and the way they think?

this guy thinks catholism is th eonly way

i find him crazy

he also thinks people dont need money... i told him how are people going to retire and not have to work

he doesnt get it

you can do 4 things with a theology degree:

A) teach theology
B) become a priest
C) write books (see also: A)
D) enjoy school and get a job after graduation that has nothing to do with his major but he knows a guy who knows a guy, so it's all good.

You could probably get the Bush administration to get you an appointment as head of the National Science Foundation, or some high position at NASA, or Education Secretary or something...

take it to P&N, moron

I went to a religious University, yeah some people make decent cash. I even know a lot that go into politics, but many end up teaching or in school administration (for private religious universities) which can be a pretty cozy job. I think people who go into this sort of thing aren't really about the money though. 😉
