career change ?

I do architectual drafting for a living and I am looking to change careers.
Iwas thinking about taking a course called CIW - certified internet webmaster.
any one out there doing web pages for a living????

My roommate does a lot of web development for a living.

He recommends getting to know Perl, Javascript, some XML and HTML (of course) as well as possible. Flash, Cold Fusion, some SQL (or mySql), IIS or Apache is also a great thing to know too.

I know of a couple people who make a dynamite living by doing the CAD animations/flythroughs etc. on architectural 3D models. It's heavy on the CAD/computer graphics skills but requires an architectural background. Maybe that would be enough of a change but still leverage off your existing skills.
