The job I have now I kind of fell into due to my experience in the mililtary. It pays really well ($50k), but I have decided I am tired of it and want to do something new.
Problem is the only skills I have are in this field, besides an Associates degree in Computer Information Systems. I would like to get into something with IT or management, but 1)I have no practical work experience with computers, only the education, and 2)the military provided me with the leadership skills needed for management, but I don't think anyone would hire me into management without a degree.
To make matters worse I have gotten comfortable with my nice salary, and it would be hard to take a large pay cut that would be needed to start in entry level. I would probably only be able to accept no lower than $40k/yr in my current situation.
What the heck am I to do ? Should I stay with my current job and be unhappy, or is there something that I can do with the skillset and education I have that would pay comparably to what I currently get?
Thanks in advance!
