One stat that Irvin had on Monk was arrests....

Maybe the rings on your fingers have something to do with it, and granted Irvin has had much more media exposure.

politics everywhere you go..

Perhaps because Irvin was 10x the football player Monk was?

I think you need to read those stats again their guy.

Stats are rarely the true measure of an athlete. Regardless of that Monk absolutely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

Im not saying he shouldn't be in there but, Art Monk did play in 65 more games then Irvin and in football terms, thats huge.

Irvin was not ten times the player Monk was, they are both outstanding receivers and IMO in the same league with Jerry Rice. And if I'm not mistaken, they both have 3 Superbowl rings. Monk was an incredible player and to be passed over yet again for the HoF is just sad, the guy deserves to be there without a doubt.

I can admit that Irvin was a very good player, but the only reason he made it in was politics (they all like to suck each other's dicks in the nfl/media). When Merriman can win awards after sitting four games for steroid use, this doesn't surprise me in the least. "Deserving" in the NFL apparently also includes a popularity requirement (of which Irvin >>> Monk when it comes to popularity)
