I've been running 4 -5 miles every day for the last 3 weeks.

Is it better to give my body a rest on the weekends?

I typically do 6 days a week, with my rest on sunday.

I've been hardcore for the past 2 weeks every day except Sunday (coz my gym is closed). I try to burn 500 - 600 calories in about half an hour of workout. I am pouring at the end...and feeling damn good.

I'm 6 feet 190lbs, with pudge around the belly that I'm trying my damnest best to get rid of and stay off. I'm guessing that will happen I reach below 185 lbs.

I also do weight training, coz I dont wanna get rid of the muscle that I've built for the 9 months before that. I know its inevitable to lose some muscle with cardio...oh well. I do eat like mad though...but no carbs after 6pm and lay off anything that has High fructose corn syrup, especially as the main ingredient. (read those 2 in mens health) . Try finding things in the store that dont have HFCS...you'll notice that pretty much everything has it.

I cook, so I control pretty much everything that goes in me.

5 days a week should be plenty, although it's not as important to rest for cardio as it is for weight training. you can actually do more harm to your body if you don't let a muscle group recoup adequately before putting it under strain again.

I'm trying to get rid of a bit of belly fat too. Down to 5'8" 157 lbs. Can't imagine dipping below 150 lbs though.

I haven't eaten regular bread, pasta, potatoes, or baked goods in about 6 weeks and have dropped about 18 lbs.

Keep it up, its good.

Last summer I ran 4 miles a day at 7:30am! Dam it was such a mofo to get up and run at that time. Ran with a friend who also came by to my place to wake me up.

Did that for 6 days a week. Then later dropped it to 5 days and kept the weekends free. Its fine. You can do it 7x a week with no problems. I was looking cut after those 6 weeks.

Diet pays a major part in getting cut.

Hey,
THE MORE THE BETTER, man.. Be proud and strong, my brotha'.. Just don't overwork yourself.. I was running 7 days a week for 14 days straight and then got REALLY bored and frustrated.. Take a day or two off a week but just maybe take a walk or eat a little less those days.. Mental health's important too!

I've been getting up at 5:45 to run on weekdays and around 8:00 on weekends.

Amazingly, I really look forward to it.

It's a great way to start the day.

I read somewhere that you can eat more carbs within 30 - 40 minutes after a workout. Is this true?

I've been eating 1/2 cup Fiber 1 with 1/2 cup soy milk and strawberries or kiwis followed by 1/4 cup of plain whole yougurt.
