Card upgrade or new system?

Hi guys,
I need to upgrade my videocard because I need one to support 2500x1600 on my new monitor. I don't play many games, and plan to use the system mostly to browse the web and play multiple games of online poker. Is a new card going to affect the performance of my current system? Also, any recommended cards for that resolution? This is my current setup, its about 2 years old.

Athlon 64 3000+ Venice
ATI X800XL 256MB/256bit (dual DVI)
Corsair valueselect 1GB dual channel mode
Samsung spinpoint P (SATA II) 200GB
Antec Sonata II (with case PSU)

3d performance will be weaker than what you already have, but that doesn't sound like an issue for you. Video playback will be outstanding, and Windows/Aero/etc will be flawless.

It doesn't mention dual-DVI in that card. I will need that for the monitor to work. Thanks
