On a Maximus v gene motherboard the video cards are almost up against each other in sli If I have one evga ftw 670 now should I go with another blower style card or an aftermarket one like wind force? If I run one aftermarket and my current blower style card together, which slot should the aftermarket card be in? Top or bottom? I am a little bit concerned about airflow foe the top card being right up against the back of the bottom card.

Thanks

In a HAF 932, you should have sufficient cooling for a blower style card so unless you mind having different looking GPUs in your case you should go with Asus 670 (non TOP). I'm not sure whether it'd be overall better to have the EVGA card below or above, you can try it out once you get the second 670.

Agree with lehtv. Go for ASUS GTX 670 Direct CU II 'Non TOP'.

With regards to the placements of the cards you just have to test it.

You should have bought a full ATX ASUS mobo when going SLI. Even if it's possible with the V Gene, the slots are too close, so very unpractical.

Just get another FTW. When you install the top card push up on the card before tightening it down. When installing the bottom card push down before tightening it down. It leaves a good half inch space between the cards. When i ran 670 SLI i did this and the top card was only 2C warmer then the bottom.

If you want bro a friend of mine just got a 690 so he has 2 670 FTW's for sale. Could probably get you a great deal on one.

I was not happy with any offerings outside of the M5G. There was no Formula (still isn't), the sniper boards have latency cause they use PLX, and everything else had too many reported issues for my liking. UD5H had some random reports of USB issues as well as the Asus P8Z77 boards. May be fixed now, but when I was buying the M5G was the most solid choice I could find.
