I game (FPS, GTA V) on my plasma TV at 1080p. Also watch Blu Rays. Which card would I need if I want all the bells and whistles on high with a good frame rate? The quieter the better. I doubt I'll replace this TV for 4 years or so. No 4k in my future.

Currently have a 660Ti but it's time to build a new PC. I'll go with an i7 processor and 16 GB RAM. I haven't picked a mobo or PSU yet.

TIA

gtx970 is the best card for 1080p that wont break the bank. should play just about any game at high setting/high detail @ 1080p. 2x faster than a 660ti.

It also uses only about 160 watts and won't heat your entire room like the AMD cards.

For 1080p these days you'll want to look at the R9 290, R9 390 and the GTX 970. Quietness is going to depend on which aftermarket cooler is put on the card. Sapphire's Nitro 390 is very quiet, and the Tri-X 290 is also very quiet. For the 970 there are quite a few quiet models, when you're looking just google a review on it and jump to the section about how loud it is.

I added that I watch Blu Rays also. I assume the 970 still works?

I really like a GTX 970 for 1080p and quietness out of Nvidia options. I use mine with a 1080p plasma all day, can play any 1080p Blu Ray and every game I have at ultra.
