Card Dying?

Is this video card related on this older rig?

I watch videos with VLC and it's always worked great. Lately, VLC is hanging up and ghosting.
I updated VLC, no change.
Uninstalled and re installed VLC, no change.
Updated video card drivers, no change.
Emptied temp folder, defragged hdds, no change.

Downloaded GOM player. It's better but video still hangs.

One day when I started the machine I had no display at all. Shut down pc, moved dvi cable to second connector on card and restarted. Video was back.

Monitor is a 50" plasma TV fed via a dvi - hdmi cable and works fine with other sources.

Vista Home (all updates)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz
Motherboard: ASUS P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP
Memory: 4GB (1GB X 4) CORSAIR DDR2 PC2 5300
Video Card: ASUS 8800GTS 640MB
PSU: Corsair 520 Watt

Ran this test and the burn in test.

I actually had almost this same problem before. With a 7900GTX. I thought the card was going bad, but come to find out it was the monitor.

Not saying your problem is the monitor, but mine certainly was. I tried a different monitor, and things were fine again.
