Not sure i should ask this but just thought I would get some opinions....just built a pretty nice system and got in on the pny ti4200 from BB for that. Now I have another board for a system that I am kinda doing on the cheap....wanted to get a lower end video card ...so here are the 2 cards I am thinking about mad dog gf2 mx400 30 dollars AR from comp usa or a msi gf4 mx440 for 59 from newegg so the mx 440 is almost twice the price...I am sure a much better card but like I said I am kinda doing it on the cheap because I will probably lend this system out or is there something else out there in the 30-50 range that I should get??? Thanks in advance (assuming I get replies)

compusa, best buy, circuit city, they all charge more than you can get online. about 90% i've found.

www.pricewatch.com and click on the video link for prices.

the gf4 mx will defiantely be faster.
also check gf2 ti cards and gf3 cards

Well, if it's not for you, then get something cheap. But the GF2 MX is complete crap. Not fit for anything by todays standards, and back then nVidia tended to have much worse 2d quality than today.

I would suggest mebbe looking at the Radeon 7500 or something.

The GF4MX keeps up with the GF3 and 8500 line of cards. Depending on the test, but it is usually around the Ti200 level. It is the best in your price range, but considering you won't be using this computer, keep it cheap.

as crap as the geforce2 mx is, it can still play modern games as long as you have no problem going 800x600 at medium detail

if you're looking mainly for cheap, it's actually not that bad of a card for $33 online

The 2D display quality of GF2?s is complete garbage. I?ve seen them in stores and the text is almost blurry. Get the ATI 7500, much faster and easier on the eyes - display quality is really good.
