The biggest thing I miss about cars is focus on the car.
My first car didn't have power windows, doorlocks, fog lights, cruise control, and all that stuff. My second car did. When it came to get my third, I ordered one without. From the drivers seat one would think my car is a stripped down model. No front ABS (got rear though), just have A/C, aftermarket stereo, no temperature/compass (trust me, I know if it's hot or cold out there. And that clip they put in instead is 1000x more useful, I can slide envelopes, bridge tolls, and whatever pieces of paper I need up there, It's EXCELLENT!). But what I _DO_ have is the heavy duty package. Some nice KYB shocks. The tire and handling package. Basically, I passed up on annoying crap that is going to break, and picked up things that will keep things from breaking.
I miss the days of when a car was a car. But the market has spoken. They want living rooms with wheels. How long until Winnebagos are suddenly called "crossover vehicles"?
