they make carbonated water without the mineral part? Cause mineral water tastes gross, but I'd try plain carbonated water.

Yup. Depends on where you live but in the NE Polar seltzer water is pretty big. Canada Dry has one out now that seems like it has a higher carbonation to it.

They also have 'flavored' carbonated water with lime, cherry, etc. It's not very strong at all and is more of a smell thing.

Absolutely. The German brands have a bold flavor, wnich is why I like them.

Are those high in magnesium? There's supposed to be some that are with other beneficial minerals, but I can't seem to find any around here. Seems like a West coast thing.

I don't mind it. It's like pop but without all the sugar and crap. Though sometimes I still crave a real pop, but I don't drink as much anymore.

i hate when i mix up soda water with tonic water. fucks up my gin & tonic :(
Bottled tonic water just got too sweet for me. I started using mixing soda water with Jack Rudy, then carbonated water and lime. Now I'm lazy and just use LaCroix. Eventually I'll be drinking straight gin. :D

Not sure about the German water, but I want to say calcium is their thing. I've been getting Serbian water from biglots that has magnesium as it's main selling point. Haven't seen it in a normal store though, and I'm not at home atm to check the brand.

I thought switching from Jack and Cokes to Gin and Tonic was going to severely reduce my sugar intake. Boy was I wrong - tonic has just about the same amount of sugar as a regular cola.
