when i lived in Germany 20 years ago, the only water they put on the table at restaurants was carbonated water... one had to specifically ask for "table water" meaning give me the stuff out of the faucet.

I love San Pelligrino, Apollinaris and a few others. I guess technically those are carbonated mineral waters but it's the same concept. I can see how carbonated tap water might be less than palatable but I don't think it would be awful.

I used to love in a house with a cafe storefront so there were plenty of glass soda bottles in the fridge. Man they are crazy cold water guns

Seltzer water is just carbonated water. Club soda might have a little sodium chloride or sodium bicarbonate but no other additives.

I like Pellegrino or Perrier too. Some soda fountains will have a soda only option and if they do I'll hit that as it has no sweeteners or flavorings added.

depending on location tap water is the same or better.
Of course, I live in the Alps, easy for me to talk.

I've tried that la crotch stuff and it's awful. If I'm drinking water, I'll stick with regular ice water thank you. No need for the "flavor" in that can without a sweetener to bring it out.

I started drinking it with gin as a replacement for tonic water. Something about them bubbles makes it refreshing, and you get great burps.

Mineral water makes a great mixer for white spirits like vodka or grain alcohol.

La Croix is one of my least favorite brands. Biglots has been getting it lately, therefore I have also. It's alright for the price, but I like Polar or Perrier better for flavored water. There used to be Strathmore over here(maybe they're gone everywhere?), and I really liked that one; especially the orange.
