Car wreck accident settlement

I was in a bad car wreck September of 2018. I was coming to a stop behind a work truck. The guy behind me was also coming to a stop and was also in a work truck. A work van going around 40+ when he tried to stop hit the guy behind me and I was basically crunched between the two trucks. Vehicle totaled. Went to the ER ended up with 9 staples in my head. It happened on a Thursday and on the following Monday I hired an attorney. Injuries. Head trauma with concussion. Neck and back injuries requiring a Chiropractor and PT for 3 months. Also brain health doctor for 6 months. I also was seen several times by a pain specialist and eventually had injection therapy for my neck. I guessing I will be released by the pain doctor this month. When I hired my attorney he said he could get anywhere from 75K to 250K. The driver of the van was cited for careless driving. So liability is not in question. And my attorney told me that since the van was a work van they had a separate policy beyond the driver's policy. So the coverage is there. My question is how much should I get. The attorney will take 33%. I'm not sure what the med bills are but I imagine they're not cheap. In closing the concussion caused me problems with sensitivity to loud noises and light. Not understanding what people were saying at times. I heard them, but couldn't understand. Almost like Charlie Brown's parents. Difficulty finding the right words or hearing the words wrong. Example --> when describing what the EMT told me as I got into the ambulance. I said --> as I got into the envelope. At first I didn't realize it, but my doc looked at me a smiled and then I did. This continued for about 3 months.

Got a GOOD lawyer?

How much you will get depends on a variety of things...such as your injuries and medical bills, but more on the but more on the skills of your lawyers.

Yes I did pick a good lawyer. The ones on TV are the worst.

Amounts also depend on the state its in and there are different provisions\considerations for healthcare. Attorneys fees for this are often negotiable. Around here you get dropped to 28-30% basically just for asking.

Personal injury cases can take years to resolve. You have barely started the process.

This.

This is probably the dumbest thread I've seen in a while and your attorney would tell you the same (in a harsher tone) if you told him about it.

You have a privileged relationship with your attorney. What you say to each other (relating to legal advice) cannot (except for a few exceptions) be discovered by the other party in the lawsuit - unless you're an idiot and you plaster what your attorney told you on a public forum, thereby waiving any privilege that would have existed.

You also have obligations in discovery to produce documents in response to the other side's requests. In personal injury case, 99% of the insurance defense attorneys will serve document requests asking you to produce social media postings, internet forum postings, etc. relating in any way to the accident or your injuries. This thread certainly fits within that. You could selectively leave your posting out of your production, but then you've committed a major discovery violation and if anyone learns about it, good luck with the judge. You could delete/edit the thread, but then you've committed spoliation of relevant evidence - same result as above.

Last option is you can produce this thread to the other side - the insurance company will love reading how your lawyer values the case.

As I said... dumb thread is dumb.

Why would you possibly take out a new account here of all places to be asking a question like this?

And also, dumb thread anyways.

I read what the OP posted and I also read what Jeebus posted and I think Jeebus read into what the OP posted the same as I read into it!
What I read was that the OP by posting in these forums about his accident might me trying to cover or hide or embellish the truth of the matter!!
You are correct rommelrommel this is a dumb thread!!
