Car Wash Vendor Broke Something On My Truck

Considering that every car wash I have ever been too states that they are not liable for any parts that are not factory-installed, you're lucky they're even paying for the part's replacement.

I missed that this was a hand-wash. In that case, I don't think you're being unreasonable.

That said, who the hell pays $45 for a car wash?

Yes, you're being unreasonable.

Did you read that it was a car wash vendor that came to our site? It didn't run through a machine..it's guys with some rags and their hands. Tell me how you break a wind guard when you're washing your vehicle with a rag.......

I agree, you aren't being unreasonable. They delivered your vehicle back to you damaged, so they should do everything in their power to restore it to the condition it was in before they started...regardless of how "trivial" the install may be.

Agreed. And hey, if it's a trivial thing to install, they should have no problem doing it, right? 🙂

It's the old adage, "you break it, you bought it." If a business damages a customer's posession, it's definitely in their interest to repair it. It's bad advertising when someone says, "That carwash damaged my vehicle, and won't repair it." Most people don't like risking having their cars damaged, much less needing to pay money for the privilege.

Guess I'm not the only one that thinks this way. I assume he'll end up doing the right thing.

I think the OP is being a little unreasonable. Its such an easy task to do yourself that you should just do it. I infer that you otherwise think the guy does a good job with the washing service, and we all know that accidents happen. Fact is, your window gaurd MAY have been previously stressed or otherwise defective with out you knowing it. The guy is offering to replace, you should meet him half way and install it yourself.

You aren't being unreasonable. You shouldn't have even had to ask for an install. However, not all businesses are run with great ethics and in this case I think you should just take what he is offering. Usually I'd fight on principle but they are very easy to install so the fight isn't really worth it.

so, there is a irritation point with your principles huh? you only fight on principle when it is less irritating for you to fight on principle then the alternative.

hmmmm.

I don't blame you on wanting it professional done, especially if the tape on the visor doesn't adhere to the body. But you ocan also use the in-channel visors. I like those much better than tape on ones.

This is one of them from JC Whitney, there are a couple others to choose from. They slide into where the glass window goes into on the frame. Use these and you'll never have to worry about the tape falling off or anything.

He did you a favor. Throw that cheesy Autozone crap in the trash.

But you sound like a pvssy man OP. Scared to install a freaking redneck visor?
