Car was broken into last night

mobobuff

Lifer
The three things they took...

1. My iPod Nano.
2. My FM transmitter.
3. HALF A BOX OF CONDOMS.

Somebody somewhere right now is having sex with my condoms while listening to The Raconteurs.... :angry;

Okay.. *waits around for mobobuff to fix his post*

Edit: Why do people leave their MP3 players in their car? It's not that hard to throw it in your pocket, especially when it's the size of a nano..

Next time you leave a somewhat valuable item in your car, leave a half box of condoms that have been skewered with a needle.

That was my exact thought after I found out... if I was psychic I would've put holes in them.

Also, they probably would've spared my FM transmitter if it hadn't been plugged into the Nano.

Well mostly because the only time I USE it is when I'm driving, hence the FM transmitter. When I'm anywhere else I'm listening to music on the computer. And it's just a bother to unplug it and bring it in all the time, especially when I usually have 5 or 6 other things to bring in. I usually hide it under the arm rest, but whoever did it was smart and lifted it up.

I had a couple Linksys routers and HDMI cables in the back, but they overlooked those, or didn't know what they were.

When I had a car (and a 20GB MP3 player) - I never kept the MP3 player in the car at night. Whenever I parked the car somewhere, I moved the MP3 player into the glove box or under the seat (aka somewhere where it couldn't be seen). Then again, everyone in my town also drove expensive cars like BMWs and Lexus's while I drove a '97 Taurus.

Sucks to hear about your loss though. Some people have no respect for another person's property.

Well they left my glovebox open, so that would've been a bust. And stuff had even been pulled out from underneath my seat. These guys were good. Low-life scum... but good.

Way to leave the iPod and FM transmitter in your car. Could have taken it with you. Out of sight, out of mind as they say.

You know what? I come from a rich neighborhood. We were never taught not to leave crap in our cars. I remember going out to our student parking lot with my friend who wanted to get his laptop. He left his bag right on top of the seat in his car. I thought "Are you retarded?" I heard of tons of stories of people getting broken into, and even though I never came close to it because we were always in our bubble-rich-town, I always asked to put my backpack in the trunk anytime I was in anyone's car. It was a sign of respect so they wouldnt get broken into because of my backpack.

Well, wouldn't you know, my car got broken into after I came to college in Berkeley. I was loaded to go camping and I went to grab breakfast. I guess that can't be helped, but I NEVER leave a single thing in my car now. The only thing that stays is my bowling ball and shoes which are in the trunk because I don't wanna lug them around all the time and plus I have tinted windows for my trunk (yes I have a damn minivan so I can't hide everything).

But I hate it when people ride my car back at home in my rich neighborhood and think its cool to leave a BACKPACK with a LAPTOP in sight. I mean sure, maybe breakins don't happen back at home very often, but having lived in Berkeley, I know better than to leave anything in sight.

Even if it's empty boxes, empty bags, just HIDE IT ALL.

If anyone's as stupid to leave an iPod out, you should be shot.

Yeah, there are a bunch of motherfvcking thieves in Berkeley. It's virtually a rite of passage that all students get stuff stolen from their car.

When I was there, the thieves were pretty ambitious - they cut through the pole of the parking meters and made off with the part of the unit with all the coins inside.

I feel for you man. I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago, only I wasn't so fortunate as to only have my nano go missing.

I drive a pickup and have a "bedbox" I put all my stuff in I don't feel like lugging up the three flights of stairs to my apartment, I lock it up. Wouldn't you know it that one night (the night that I park in front of my complex of all nights) This crook busts open the box with a hammer and crow bar and makes off with my backpack, graphing calculator, and tons of other school stuff. On top of that, he jimmys the locked door and takes my CD player amp, and subwoofer.

The best part is though I get a call the other day and they tracked this a-hole down and found some of my stuff 😀, they are hoping to get a warrent and find out where this guy has the rest of mine and loads of other peoples belongings.

Sounds like my guy had a much easier time getting to my stuff. Well I'm locking everything from now on.

I'm actually not that upset, it's like learning a lesson. Every night when getting out of my car I wondered if this would be the night my stuff got ganked. I wish I had keyless entry, I'm just so lazy. 🙁

Mostly I found humor in the fact that they took 4 condoms.

I'm almost wondering when my subs are going to stolen. I have 2x 18's sitting in the hatch of my wagon in plain sight. Kinda tough to hide them, or lift the 175lb box, and they're not name brand subs, so I'm not too worried... but with that in plain view, I know I'm asking for it.

And ppl that break into cars need a beating.

Right, because the one thing we need more of are bastard children who grow up to do the same thing.
