Car trunk won't open

Can't open the trunk of my car anymore with the key. Tried 2 different keys. Tried spraying WD-40 into the lock. Tried a hair dryer in case it was frozen.

Any suggestions?

If not, anyone have an idea how much $$ to fix? I really just want to sell this thing so hoping it's not too expensive.

Thanks

1 of the keys is worn but the 2nd I tried was new. The keys go inside but do not turn at all. It was getting progressively worse over the last couple years until a month ago where I cannot open it at all.

Lock cylinders do just wear out after awhile. I had the driver's side door one finally crap out on my old beater van. In that case I just pulled the lock cylinder out of the passenger door and put it in the driver's 🙂. You might buy some of the graphite lube made for locks and give that a try. That kept mine working for another year or so after the wd40 stopped. Can you get into the trunk from the inside through the back seat? If you have one of those safety trunk releases that would make it a lot easier to get the trunk open to work on it.
