car trouble

I have a mazda 626 and I started it up yesterday and the engine sounds completely different. Basically it sounds like the muffler has fallen off, only it hasnt, and the sound is coming from the engine. You know, its making that low roar sound or whatever..

I was wondering if anyone who knows something about cars could tell me what may be the problem before I take it into the mazda dealer and pay $$$.

Thanks

I don't know much about 626s, but it is probably a PITA to get to. I did one this summer and it took approximately 4 hours, start to finish.

If it's just a small hole, you might be able to mend it yourself easily and inexpensively. It might look something like this when you're done. 🙂
