But only if the subwoofers in question have been built to "free air" specs. The average subwoofer requires an enclosure of a specific volume. FYI.

Bigger is ALWAYS a flatter response, especially once you reach 10 times the VAS.
"Free air" is really a marketing term. Any driver will preform closer to ideal in a box 10 times its VAS.
