Car stereo w/ IPOD interface? Which one do you guys like?

There are so many different car stereos now, I'm just not sure what to choose from. Price is not an issue, anything less than $500. I'd rather have something simple, so it doesn't get stolen, but on the other hand, I want full access to my IPOD w/out playlists. Should I just wait for the new stereos that have a USB port? What do you guys like?

AFAIK, Alpine still has the fastest interface, but playlist based. I don't think anyone offers directory/file access through ipod. In fact, from my reading, I had the impression that was simply how ipods worked, and that you had to use a playlist period.

hmm, I thought it only creates playlists if you press and hold one of the buttons.

Adding a group of songs to an On-The-Go playlist
In addition to adding individual songs to an On-The-Go playlist, you can add all the songs from a specific artist, album, song, genre, composer, or audiobook. You can even add all the songs from one of your existing playlists. Simply locate the artist, album, song, genre, composer, audiobook, or playlist you want to add, and press and hold the Select button until the item flashes, indicating it has been added.
