For my brother.
They already have a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X469 head unit and some nice Alpine speakers in the cab. Now they're looking for some nice sub(s) and an amp.
What can you guys recommend in that price range? Buying online would be preferrable, unless there are some good deals going on at B&M stores. Maybe save some $$, no?
The main type of music is rock and speed/death/power/progressive etc.. metal. So nice clean, hard hitting, tight bass is a must. 😀
His girlfriend went out and bought an amp and some speakers that were pretty insane. Unfortunately, they can't find any boxes or anything, so they don't really have any idea what they were. Still looking. The subs were 10" Kenwoods, thats all they know at this point. It all came together, and was about 500$(amp, 2 subs, head).
The amp and subs were stolen out of their old Preludes trunk one night a few weeks ago. Bastards.
Anyway.. instead of just going out and buying something random, even though it was good, they want to make more of an informed buy. Maybe end up getting something better in the process.
I know there are some pretty knowledgable car stereo guys here. Any other recommended forums on the subject?
