I currently have a stock headunit in my truck and a 6 disc cd changer. Either the circuitry in my headunit or my 6 disc changer has died and now my headunit doesnt see the changer, however, both power up fine. Also, 2 of my stock speakers are blown..

soo..

I've decided to get a cheap aftermarket cd player and a set of speakers. I found this at walmart

Wondering.. If I plug my ipod into it, will the ipod control it or how does that work? I dont need thumping bass or anything, just a solid headunit. I'll get a fascia kit and converter plug to use my existing wiring and will replace my four 5x7 (6x8) speakers also at the same time.

What speakers should I get that are relatively inexpensive? Is there a better choice for a headunit that reads mp3 and wma and had aux in at the same price point? (Around 80-$90 bucks)

This one looks nice also!

I have no clue with car audio.

I think there have been some threads about car audio in here, but I would be happy to move it to garage if you so desire. Let me know.

An Aux input jack will not control your ipod nor can your ipod control the stereo. All that the Aux jack is doing is taking the audio signal from your ipod and amplifying it to your speakers. To get some kind of ipod control you'd need a stereo with a dedicated ipod port or some can do it through a usb port. However these stereos are going to be beyond your budget.

For a good selection of speakers and headunits try this site: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/. Good prices and great service too. As for speaker brands, a quick glance at ones under $60 a pair, I would go with any of these: Pioneer, Kicker, MB Quart, Alpine, or JBL.
