car stereo install question

I am installing a pioneer deck in my friends buick, and the fm antenna jack got a little messed up and is unusable. I just want to know if i can splice the wire that connects the antenna jack to the stereo, and then splice the wire coming from the antenna and connect the two.

Possible?

Any other possible methods of doing this?

i guess you could do that as long as you ahve a spare jack to splice into (unless you were thinking of opening the head unit which i do not advise, but isn't coaxial cable kinda hard to splice into? (i think car antenna cable is coxial)

yeah. Cut away the out layer until you get to the metal. Twist the 2 ends together. If you have any of the copper insulation left on either end, tie the two ends together. Make sure to tape it up really well.
