Car stereo guys, what are your thoughts on Bazooka tube amp/subs

I know they are hated by true audiophiles, but I think they serve a purpose for cars with not a lot of trunk space.

For me, I'd like to get a little more bass in my current car (stock HU) without tearing up the interior to run cables (I do my own ghetto installs) and eat up trunk space.

Anyone with experience with these?
I heard the 8" 100W model today and it wasn't extremely horrible, but nothing compared to the system in my other car.
