Car Stereo Amp Suggestions

I've got four CV 5.25" speakers in my Stealth. Currently the rear two are powered by a Rockford Fosgate 100a2, but I would like to install a four channel amp to power all the speakers. I would prefer to keep this fairly inexpensive since I just got two new 10"s.

Personally, I'd visit my local Circuit City or Best Buy stores and look for their "open box" deals. You should be able to find a nice 4-channel amp that would sufficiently power your speakers for a nice price. Clearly, the 5.25" speakers won't need nearly the power that a subwoofer requires.

It sounds like you're looking for US Acoustics amps...The 4050 is a 50w x 4ch @ 4 ohms.

Email Steve at zedaudio(at)aol(dot)com and tell him Mario sent you. He should be able to give you a pretty good price...If you do, let me know how it works out for you 🙂

Actually, the subs can handle more power, but don't need it.
Subs are always hundreds of times MORE efficient that the other drivers in the car.

first thing is dont worry so much about power when running an amp to highs and mids...worry about thd....you can get a cheap 4 channel with <.1 thd with 100x4 for under a hundred bucks anywhere....but it will sound like dooky...look for somethin with <.08 thd, most 5 1/4's only need about 35-50 watts rms power so shop around for something that will do the job...i really like dei amps, but maats is good too....rockford IMO is overrated and over priced...oh...and stay away from kenwood unless you want your trunk to catch on fire

I love my RF amps. I just wish I had picked up 4 channel one back when I had a nice discount on them. I picked up my 250a2 and 100a2 for 1/2 of Best Buy's price.

And then you find out a speaker puts out a LOT more distortion than an amp ever does before clipping.

Something like the US Acoustics previously recommended will do you fine.
