not my car but my sister's.
turns right maybe 1 full turn and hence, the wheels don't turn as much as they should.
left turns are fine, goes all the way.

what's the issue?

check for stuff binding under the car. It sound like maybe a bump-stop is out of place and limiting travel? Could be any one of a number of steering related parts is having clearance issues.

If everything looks good, I'd check out the steering column and linkage, and if that looks clear, I'd replace the power steering box.

Definitely check what BlahBlah said. One caveat, it might have a rack and pinon setup instead of a steering box. Either way, the problem probably lies there if all the linkages check out.

Also take a look at the tires as well. If something in all the linkage is screwed up, more than likely the alignment is going to be way off. If it's been that way for a while the tires might be unevenly or badly worn.

now that you mention it, she did mention the mechanic said something about a linkage awhile back that i just forgot.

Mechanics will tell you if a linkage component (pitman arm, idler arm, inner & outer tie rod ends - or rack & pinion with inner and outer tie rod ends) are worn, but a worn component won't cause the issues you're having. It sounds like something is bent out of shape and interfering with your steering linkage, or your power steering box (or rack) is in need of replacement.

But I would seriously doubt a worn linkage could cause something like this.

it could be as easy as the plastic shield under the engine went over a rock and is pushed up between the idler arm and a frame rail or something.
