I have stock speakers and my 2 brothers dont know what to get me and together want to spend around $150-200. Could I get an ok-good set of speakers and sub somewhere for that??

Or even front speakers with a dual speaker/sub for the rear??

And will this thing drive them without an amp?

HEre is the HU i am most likely getting

You will want to look at coaxials. the polk db or the infinity reference seem to be the definitive "good and cheap" upgrade speakers. You can get 2 pair of either for about $150 shipped online (woofersetc.com seems to be one of the lowest priced, but cardomain will pricematch). Apparently some pioneer models also fall into this category, but I couldn't tell you which ones are good and which ones aren't. Some kicker products, too, IIRC, though I don't think I've read anything good about sony or rockford fosgate.

Without an amp you cannot drive a sub or component speakers.

sounddomain.com and caraudio.com are good forums to look at if you decide that you want to add an amp or a sub, or get something more spendy than the speakers I mentioned.

There may be some speakers out there that could sound a little bit better than the reference or the db's, but they will likely require an amp to drive them, which would double the price anyway.
