Car Speaker question

I was wondering what the best speakers were out of Sony Xplods and Kickers. I am just getting front panel and rear speakers, not getting an amp or sub. Also the best place to buy them?

If you could help me out i would appreciate any feedback.

I think Kicker makes a higher-quality product than Sony. If I had to make a choice of what to put in my car, I would choose (and in fact have) Kicker. However, I cannot back this claim up with numbers. It's just a gut feeling.

I'd go with something else. Does it have to be Sony or Kicker? If you're going for name brands, why not go with Infinity? Their reference series is good. 😀

what kind of deck are you going to be running?? the kickers probably need a higher powered deck than the sonys (which I think only need about 15 watts rms power, or just about what a stock deck puts out)...if you have an aftermarket deck then go kicker...but they will be more expensive...if not go sony if those are your only 2 choices

Infinity's are sweet with their CMMD, and they have built-in crossovers for clean sound. They are what came to mind reding your post.
That aside, I have some Sony X-Plod 3-way 6x9 speakers. I don't remember the model number, but they're 180watts peak, iirc. Anyway, I like the good bass response with the HOP woofers, and the tweeters are okay, but the damned mid-range is paper, and that just pisses me off.
