I'm looking into possibly hiring a licensed/bonded/certified car shipping company to ship my truck from MS to NE.
I was down in MS on business, the tranny in the truck died and is being replaced under warranty by Isuzu. The only problem is that it will take 7-14+ days as they have to get the new tranny from GM/Isuzu, put it in, etc.
In the meantime, I have to get back to NE and get back to work. When it's ready, I've got to fly down to MS at my expense ($400+) THEN drive 18+ hours back to NE with a fuel cost of approximately $120 or so.
That's $520 right off the bat w/o counting a possible overnight stay in a hotel, food, etc.
So I figure I'm looking at $600, right? That should be about what say, a car-carrier or something would charge me to ship my truck back to my house in NE..or at least somewhere in the city I live and I could get a ride there.
Does anyone know of such a company/how much it would cost? Thanks.
*edit*
It's early and I forgot about Google.
I just picked a place at random and did an online quote: $1,145!!!! /faints
I guess I'll be doing it myself.
