Just had an argument with a coworker he was trying to tell me the sales industry and more speifically the car sales industry is and I quote

"car sales is notorious in the sales business as being the LAST to grudgingly adhere to standards of honesty that have permeated the rest of the sales business for decades"

I found this so laughable, but he was adement am I just sinical and non trusting or is he a loon

He is an idiot ....I think....your post really doesn't make sense to me

Edit: OK I read it right this time. Car sales like any other sales business has its share of dishonest folks but it isn't nearly as bad as most folks make it out to be...

Depends on the house.

Some places are total assholes and will do anything to make a buck. I mean, they'll put $4 in gas before a test drive just so they dont have to fill the tank.

Other times, if you get someone who's straight - you don't have that problem. I'm the guy who does a full detail, oil change, and full mechanical check right after I buy something and I pass the paperwork down to the future owner so he can see that I actually did something.

I had my mechanic frame check the neon and everything was good.

 I think a lot of the lies I've heard car salesmen tell were answers to questions that they didn't want to admit they didn't know the answer to.

Sales jobs for cars and in stores generally mean get the product out to the customer for the highest price in as little time as possible. But yes there are exceptions.

The key to anything in life is information, and the proper use of it.

In response to dodge tranny's being ******, a friend of mine while truck shopping was told that all dodge diesel trucks used allsion 1000's exclusively.

Yeah. 🙄

sounds to me like he said that they are not honest. and it sounds like that's what you think, too. what's the issue here?

:Q

ok, i am sure there are few car salesman that are not total crooks

i guess

Everyone starts out honest in the Sales industry but they quickly turn to evil and greed. People change when they become Lawyers/Salespeople/Police officers

The actual sales people are not that crooked.

The used car managers and finance people are the ones who stick it to you.

The car sales business, as a whole, is the most crooked business that I've ever seen.

<-----yep, I sold cars and know this for a fact.

And it wasn't just the dealership I worked for, either.....they're all like that. Okay, maybe it's just 99.9% of them.
But basically all of them are crooked.

Off all sales folks in the retail place, car salesmen are the worst, atleast here in Canada (not as much competition).
