I've a '96 Legacy L, I'd like to install an alarm system. I wanted to have:
-Alarm with shock stages.
-Starter disable
-Hood protection
-Door locks
-Trunk pop (optional)

-A 2-way remote/pager if possible, I live in an apartment, people will complaint about the sirens. So I could know and turn it off if I can't hear the alarm.
-Extended range between the car and the remote for the above.
-Incorporated??!? police blue flashing light(inside the car) if possible, because people pay attention to flash light more than sirens)

Before asking questions, I'd like to share this story with you. During Spring, I parked my car with text-books in the car and some in the trunk. I always lock my door. Some body got in and stole them all. The books worth more than $600, I wouldn't mind to install a $400 alarm system to prevent the future loss of $600 of books. *grins*

Am I asking too much? Where can I buy this and get it install for a reasonable price in Seattle? If you have any other suggestions, please share. Thank you, the Anandtechers. Enjoy your night/day.

I am no car guy but I got a friend of mine to install an alarm in my car for 250. It has infared and shock stages as well as the usual door open stuff. Of course this doesn't help you in seattle but I am just letting u know it can be done for $250 and cheaper I am sure. Take a look at alarm kits online and on eBay. I watched him install it, seems pretty simple.

Thank you for your reply, alocurto. I saw stuffs on eBay but I don't think I'll buy them. I don't know how to install stuffs for my own car. Where can I find a retailer with professional installation for the reasonable price? And decent alarm?
