Car repairs under warranty

What happens in the following situation.

You buy a car (Acura) some 150-200 miles out of town. You get the extended factory warranty (from corporation). In your town there is no Acura dealer - there IS however a Honda dealer.

When you need to get repairs done under the warranty - do you have to go to an Acura dealer?

Thanks

As long as the shop honors the warranty you are good to go. With my warranty if the shop does not honor it I just file a claim.

So it doesn't have to be the same maker? It can be a Honda dealer fixing my Acura?

That's up to the warranty. You need to check with them. Not here.

Most extended warranties should be okay with that. If you have an actual manufacturer's extended warranty ( Acura in your case), then maybe...maybe not.
Just because you bought the warranty from a dealer doesn't mean it's a factory extended warranty.

Again, check with the warranty company.
