Have an '03 Mazda MPV that has a "factory" alarm and one of the remotes died a long time ago and the backup now doesn't work. The remote's features are lock/unlock along with the alarm and I think somewhere along the line my dad added a remote start to it (you push unlock 3 times). Are there any options as far as universal solutions for retrofitting with minimal reprogramming? What's the best avenue for us?

If we get another from Mazda (haven't called yet), can we re-program it all ourselves?

Ebay for replacements. There's a very good chance you can program the remotes yourself. Check online for instructions.
