Car question

Hey guys,

I drive a 2004 Honda Accord. While I was driving back from Ithaca, NY yesterday I noticed the 'Maintenance Required' indicator go on. Just wondering what this this is yelling about, and what are they 'Maintenance' things that it is looking for? I had the oil changed a little while ago, but I don't think they reset the indicator (I havn't been able to figure out how to reset it myself). Any ideas or quick things I can check out?

I hate to take it to a mechanic if its something I can look at myself.

there's a procedure in the manual for reseting the maint light if you are sure you had the oil changed recently.

It turns on based on mileage on the car. There is a little key hole kindda thing there where you can put your car key in to reset it.

Edit: It has nothing to do with anything being wong in the car. Its just for scheduled maint.

So I guess the Maintenance Indicator light is just yelling about oil changing then? The indicator doesn't monitor other things..?

Usually thats a separate 'check engine' indicator.
I think dealer maintenances are a rip off. Take your car to a good dealer for a strait up oil change and tire rotation. You'll get the same attention that comes with a scheduled service for much much cheaper. Plus you'll get a proper oil filer instead of the crap ones they put in at the quick lube places.

Nope. Its just to remind you of the scheduled maintenance (according to the manual).
