Thinking of looking at or buying a 1998 Honda Civic Hatchback that has 95,000 miles on it. I'm a college student and I live far away from home (3.5 hours) so I would like to have the 40MPG. The guy is asking for $4,500 for it. Do you think this is a decent deal? What do you think about that model? Your thoughts?

Thanks for reading.

My sister has a 99 Civic coupe - it's a pretty reliable car. A little small for my tastes though (to put it in perspective, I hate small cars, it might be perfect for you though)

sounds like a good deal to me if the car is in good shape and doesnt have a lot of scratches/dents

my 97 civic has 108k and it's running like a champ, pretty much the same as when i got it w/ 45k

It does not say in the add what trim it is. It is a hatchback. I don't like the feature of the hatchback but I will get over it.

Hatchbacks are usually the lightest variant, that being said I love my '91 Integra hatchback! If your main concern is fuel economy I assume you are looking at manual tranny cars?
