Car Question....

Hey everyone, I recently recieved a Plymouth Reliant-K station wagon for free.
Now, the turn signals will not blink in the front or back. However, when I turn on the hazards...they work fine.
Can someone please explain to me why this is so?
And...anything I can to fix it?

Thanks in advance...

either the relay or the switch.

If you're good with electronics, you can see if the switch is sending power to the relay, if not you can jsut replace the relay first for $20 and then the switch (probably $100) when needed.

That would be the switch. The switch is likely not cheap. use hand signals on your drive to my house where you will sell me said station wagon.

That is called a flasher, not a relay. I assume you are speaking of the round thing that is in the fusebox. that is the flasher. it costs about $3. If the hazards work, then it is the turn signal switch. if neither worked, it could be the switch, a burned out bulb(s), wiring, or the flasher. (likely the flasher)

Hey Dave, aren't there two flashers, one for the turn sigs and one for the 4-ways?

Seperate fuses for the turn signal & the flashers?!?

How would a blown fuse cause one to work and not the other. That's odd, although obviously it fixed it.

Good for you SexEPid, you took the right course to properly diagnose the problem.
