Re inventing old tech are we? You could use a carb, but I dont know of any compressors that could keep up with an engine sucking in about 795 cfm.

cold air if you prefer to gain horsepower
hot air if you prefer to lose horsepower :p

also replacing your intake will only give you a max of 5hp, and that's if you are extremely lucky. only way to make real power is to go forced induction.

I'sn't the Cold Air Package from SLP on the base LS1 suppose to be a 15 hp increase?

I thought I saw an article a while back comparing cold air packages.

I never claimed I was inventing anything I was merely stating a method of increasing power output of an engine.

BTW A Garret T-76 Turbocharger flows 1500+ CFM.

Im just busting your balls. Im talking air compressor, not turbo charger. Or are you just talking about turboing a vehicle, and I completely mis understoud you?

Well I was talking normal forced induction, you are right about a normal piston air compressor not being able to flow nearly enough, they are better for higher PSI, low flow.

no question cold air is better for power. this is how it works

cold air is more dense than hot air, so there is more 02 in the same given volume compared to hot air. what does this mean? you can combust more fuel.

hot air is thinner ( less dense ) and will not burn as much fuel for a given volume because there are less 02 molecules.

Funny how many people actually believe that. That's only going to happen if (a) you believe the advertising copy, and (b) someone had previously shoved a potato into your old air intake.

There may be some advantage to warm air coming into the intake from an emissions standpoint, but certainly not for generating horsepower.
