In my car and most cars with automatic transmission we have d1 and d2. Is it bad for the engine if I switch to d1 for ex when going down hill as to make the engine to break instead of using my breaks and also when raining keep better control of the car. Im I breaking the car by shifting to those positions?
 
I'd be willing to bet that your transmission won't last quite as long as it normally would.. I'm sure it's more stressful than just normal driving.

Perhaps change your ATF fluid a little more often.
