Car purchase question

I am considering purchasing a new car for the wife.

One family member of mine and one friend of mine are also thinking about buying the same make.

Do you think a dealer would give any more of a discount if we all three walked in together and said "We want to buy three vehicles, right now."?

possibly, as they would in essence be selling 3 cars in the same amount of time as one, but you won't get very much if you strike a hard bargain on price, as there's only so much room to deal.

Talk to an internet sales or Fleet manager. They will probably give you invoice or near invoice pricing. And you wont have to hagle to get it.

Of course you could probably get that only buying one car too, like I did. I don't know why people go through the horrible process of haggling.

What is special about talking to them? Do they really give that much of a break compared to the floor sales people?

Yes. Or maybe it was just the dealership I went to that had a fleet manager. I went to a local dealership and talked to a salesguy and told him I knew the invoice price and wanted to order a car near that price. He laughed and said the lowest he could go was MSRP(about $2.5k over invoice). I walked out and called around. I found a dealership 45 mins away with a fleet manager who quoted me $300 over invoice with no haggle. I called him and it was as easy as that.

Yeah, the fleet or Internet sales guy is the one you want.

I paid a few hundred over invoice for my car and had an out the door price (tax, tags, etc included) quoted to me before I even showed up to look at the car.

This method is covered in great detail at the Edmunds car forums. They even have the forums split off so people can compare the out the door price they got on their specific make, model, and options. I spent about three months reading the forums before buying my first car this way. I think it's the way to go.

bought all my cars at below invoice except one at invoice (b/c it was a new redesigned model year that had just came out in the market one week ago and only few dealerships had the newer redesigned car and that too..only 1 or 2)

So Aim for invoice atleast.

IF 1 lb = 1 sq ft - Yes.

I have no idea how much the materials going into a house weighs.
