Car problems

I have an older Honda Accord. When I turn the key in the ignition, the car "sounds" like it's going to start up normally. However, right before it's supposed to start up, the entire engine just shuts off.

I know little about cars. Anybody know what's going on? Thanks.

Do you mean that the starter does its thing but the car doesn't turn over?

Either your main relay or distributor. Common problem on Accords.

Yes. I think. I've seen what happens when the starter doesn't work, and this is different.
