brake light constantly comes on, what are most common reasons for this?

car brakes fine and i just changed brakes not too long ago

1. Some fuse
2. Really, the brake lights or signal lights must be replaced.

I had an old Chevy S-10 that kept having this problem. Replaced all the brake lamps or lights and the problem went away for good. Think Kragen, Autozone, or Pepboys. Simple, easy, do-it-yourself kind of problem.

Check to see if your emergency brake (if you have one) is either slightly engaged or loose. That could be the problem. Depending on what kind of car it is, it could mean a whole lot of things (or nothing at all). They used to call those lights 'idiot' lights because they would come on for all sorts of reason (or no reason at all).

That's a semi common problem on Neons... the brake light switch goes flakey. that's all it is, mine sometimes does that, I need to get around to seeing if I can replace it.

That might be all it is.
