You know how house prices are generally the lowest during the early winter, is there a similar time for cars?

Thanks

Last week of the month. And on a longer scale, the time right after Christmas is probably good to as I would think people are worried about buying presents, not cars.

to be more precise, lets use an example:

The 2008 honda accord was introduced last september

Any remaining 2007 accord's would be the cheapest around mid-december because:

1) the new 2008 accord would start populating the lot, and any remaining 07's would take up space and nobody would buy them without significant discounts

2) christmas is around the corner... sales would be more willing to make extra sales to get a bigger bonus.

of course, by then you wouldn't have much choices in terms of trim/color, but you'd save a few grand, or even more if there's a decent demo on the lot.

I got my 07 car the end of last July, as as they started selling the 08s. I got a pretty good deal. It might have been a little cheaper a month later, but my inspection was due on my old car so I didn't want to sink money into a car I was getting rid of.

This is essentially correct although the exact timing depends on when the next years models arrive & the effect is increased exponentially if the next years model is a complete re-design or at least has significant changes.
