Car people come onnn in

I have been looking at cars and ran across a few with a Salvage title. Usually, this is a big no-no in my book, but the ones I ran across were actually bought from an insurance company in just about perfect condition. Apparently, you legally have to give a car a salvage title after X amount of days of it being stolen. I am curious, though, since this car seems to be thoroughly unharmed (and yes, I know SEEMS doens't mean much, but that's not the question) is it possible to get a salvage titled vehicle retitled to a clear title?

Thanks,
Dan

If it works and a mechanic gives it the ok buy it. *shrug*

Dunno if you will be able to get insurance tho.. or how much it would cost.

nope,
the best you can do is get a car title-less car titled in a different state (hassle). I have a car with salvage title from cali (stolen) and it only says it has previously been issued a salvage title.

Interesting...what type of title does it have now?

Is your insurance affected in any way?

Thanks,
Dan

Actually, YEP

You can get a car that was previously titled as salvage retitled with a clear title if it passes a special inspection and you can show work was done to return the car to stock condition.

This is in Kansas btw.
