Car Owners: What Kind of Anti Theft Security Do You Have?

Currently I have no security other than the locks on my door and a detachable radio face. My car is rather old and doubt anyone would want to waste their time stealing it but I'm planning on getting a new car soon and wonder if I need any other form of anti theft other than a car alarm. Like the Unbreakable Autolock or LoJack. I remember back when my parents were buying a new car few years back they got discounts from their insurance because they had extra security on the car. Is this true?

My 89 mustang has an alarm but I never use it. I get tired of it going off when the wind blows.
My 89 caravan turbo is a beater so I don't worry about anybody screwing with it and if they do oh well.

I leave the keys in it, leave it unlocked and leave $20 on the dash, I still cant get anyone to steal it.

Alarms are nothing more than annoyances anymore. I hate them and do not use them anymore. If a thief wants your car it will be gone. I live in a neighborhood where there is no reason to worry about this kind of stuff anyway so I do nothing more than lock the doors.

I don't have any fancy anti theft devices in my car.
I just hide a smelly sock some where in the car. Instant gratification.

Unless u have an old car (10+years) , cars nowadays have measures in place against starting them when u do not have the right key (chip in the key or something like that) so if anybody wants to steal a car that person has to be somewhat professional in order to have success.

I leave it unlocked if someone really wants to steal it they will. Also I am tired of getting my windows broken out. never had a car stolen just many windows bashed in :( but I do have an accord and not a BMW but accords are stolen allot more than BWMs.

btw I have 2 friends have their car alarms stolen from their cars

I drive OLD crappy cars.

Ha ha! Yep. I was going this direction but you beat me to it. I drive cars from the 90s.... 1990 :). I have a Subaru Justy (looks like a tomato with 13" wheels) and a Plymouth Sundanc (which looks like... well... a small family sedan). My cars just aren't interesting enough to steal. They're the opposite of status symbols.

My Maxima has this really lame system that really accomplishes nothing. Now, to the potential thieves: My car has a shotgun rigged so that if anybody opens the door JUST the wrong way, it will blow your balls off.
