Car keeps saying door open (it isn't)

2011 mazda 3 hatch. Car keeps telling me randomly that my rear right passenger door is open. It's not, and it's shut all the way of course. Is there a problem with the sensor? It's not 100% of the time, it's like.. 75% of the time which is odd to me because I don't fiddle or touch it anymore.

Unplug the battery to try and reset everything?

You have a problem in the sensor and/or harness.

Try to replace the sensor first.

If that does not solve the issue; you may have to live with it.
