because it happened in a some town in Western Kentucky...who cares about small crime in Western Kentucky? Thats what local news is for unless the crime was something completely new. I'm sure theres been carjackings turned abductions before.

While Imus was a nationally known radio host who on national radio made fun of women on a nationally ranked basketball team. who managed to piss off a lot of african americans.

Small crime? Car jacked raped and murdered a woman, and killed her man. Thats pretty fd up.

Should it be national news? Nah. But it shouldn't be dismissed either.

dude did you read the articles? they raped and tortured these people and set them on fire...........

this isn't some run-of-the-mill crime these guys committed. This was a VERY brutal murder. Something that if you saw it in the movies you'd say "no way would that happen" type of thing.

While I agree it is material to be splashed across the front page of every newspaper, I do think it warrants SOME national attention.

there should be no trial for human garbage like this.. straight to execution..i recommend a boat trip to middle of the atlantic then thrown overboard.

This actually happened in Knoxville, TN. Where did someone pull Western Kentucky from?

I'm from Knoxville and this is quite possibly the most shocking thing that ever happened there. People were all over talking about Anna Nicole at the time so it's obvious why this got buried. /sarcasm

One thing I did not notice in the article (could be due to it being from January) is that apparently the girl was raped, killed, then cut up and put in a trash can. They don't really get that specific in the article. Also, the victims were white and the murderers were black. At least one of the assailants had been recently released from jail for... you guessed it... carjacking.

I'll go out on a limb here and say that if the races had been reversed then this would be a national story.
