First I would like to hear what color interior would they prefer, TAN or Gray. Secondly if you had to choose an interior both based upon the color you like and the fact that this car will not have A/C and be cooking in 100F+ temperatures during the summer, which interior would you choose? As an FYI, the exterior of the car is white... For me, I know Tan would be cooler than Gray but I don't really like the look of Tan and prefer Gray but at the same time, I'm trying to figure out if I care more about the looks or having a cool (literally) car.

Even though you're dealing with the heat of summer without A/C (why???), I'd still go with gray over tan. Hides dirt better, looks nicer (imho), and the summer heat really only has to be dealt with for ~3 months.

Get one of those reflective sun shades for the windshield, and crack the windows open, and you'd be surprised how cool the interior will stay during the day, even out in the summer sun.

Though you're going to have to tell why you won't have A/C available.

Why no A/C? And that's always bugged me about white, most manufacturers build white cars with tan/beige interiors. That's why I bought a car with a customer selectable interior (car of my dreams, but more than I wanted to spend) - it's white w/black leather interior.

Whatever one is the darker shade. Dark tan > light gray, and dark gray > light tan.

Tan hides desert dust better so tan. Black leather doesn't work in the desert. You'd fry your butt.

I prefer gray or grey over tan. Black interiors suck, unfortunately they are the most common.

Black is the best in my opinion. It is the least likely to show stians or wear. Though tan does look nice with the right color.

I don't know that the color is going to make a significant difference as far as sitting out in the sun. Either color is going to be hot as hell, so tint the windows and get a sun shade for the windshield/back window. As far as stains/dirt, it'll depend on how often you clean your car. I'd say get whichever color you prefer. Most of the tan leather interiors I've seen aren't that good looking (and don't hold up well looking significantly worse with age quicker than say black).
